During Qigong treatments, the practitioner also engages in a grounding exercise before doing a Qigong treatment. This is a necessary step for the practitioner as well as the patient, so they make sure their energy has an anchor point. This also provides stability during a treatment.
During a recent Qigong medical treatment, I was the practitioner and going through my normal grounding process where I stand and visualize the root connecting with the earth. But for some reason, during this grounding process the sensation and visual dramatically changed. No matter how hard I tried to change my thoughts to how my normal process, all I could see was this big trunk size of energy flowing up from the ground and in me. It felt very fluid and energetic.
I eventually gave up trying to force my thoughts to change to my normal grounding process and just accepted this abundance of energy flowing up through the earth and into me.
I then started my Qigong treatment.
My patient was laying supine on the massage table with her eyes closed and I started to ground her and connect her with the earth. I could feel this big wave of energy going from me and now through her. I looked to see if she was uncomfortable or grimacing, but she was relaxed and smiling.
I then continued. I then heard the words, "this energy is for your patient," so I relaxed, and allowed the energy to be transfered.
I began giving the Qigong medical treatment, but once again heard the words, "No, she needs something different. We will guide you." I then moved to the end of the massage table and placed each pinky finger on the balls of her feet and could still feel that earth grounding energy POUR into her.
I stood there for a long time, feeling that energy just pour into her from the base of her feet. I then moved my hands to the tops of her big toes and again felt the energy change, almost as if it was now a new frequency, and it poured into her.
I then moved my hands to the pointer finger on top of her feet and my thumb on the bottom of her feet and could feel the energy frequency change again, but still pouring into her.
I then changed hand positions and held the heels of her feet and pulled her legs toward me, and then pushed them away, almost as if it were a wave of motion. My thought was, "this is representative of water, and the others were of air, water, and the earth.
As I stood and did this wave motion, I had the impression this woman had the gift of time and astral travel. I could see this grounding energy would allow her a needed grounding component so she could travel further and deeper than most people. This new energy she was receiving today would allow her to always find her way back to this body safely. It was as if todays Qigong treatment was providing her with extra grounding energy so she could be a time traveler.
At the end of the treatment, I informed my patient we were done and she opened her eyes. She reported this was the most incredible experience she had ever had and she could feel energy pouring into her. She also felt "changed" as if she had become different during the treatment.
We had started the Qigong treatment with the expectation this would be a medical treatment, but the purpose and outcome clearly changed and it ended up being a spiritual experience for both of us.
Energy work seems to do that. It has a way of opening the body, mind, and soul to have new experiences and understandings. Todays treatment ended up being a treatment to allow additional grounding energy be part of her physical make up. This new grounding energy will now allow her to expand her astral travels to other planes, other dimensions and even move through time.
