When I was in my 20’s, I lived in Married Student Housing at the University and went to the Mormon Church. I had a dream where I was in living room with three other women who lived in this same apartment complex. In the dream I was making crafts with these three other women, and it seemed strange to have this dream since I did not know these women and also didn’t do crafts.
The next week the Bishop made an interview with me and asked me to be part of the Relief Society Presidency, the female organization within the Mormon Church. I agreed, and later I learned the rest of the presidency included these same three other women who I had dreamt about.
At that time, I came to the conclusion the Mormon Church must be true because I had been given a peak into what the future was holding for me.
Now that I have more life experience and a better understanding of spiritual gifts, I now know it had nothing to do with the Mormon Church. What I had experienced was a spiritual gift called future sensing. Future sensing is the ability to know and see some aspects of the future. The gift also includes the ability to see the past, too.
Many people have moments of clarity when they catch glimpses of events along the spectrum of time. When these types of moments happen, it usually comes with a feeling that helps differentiate it as being unique.
The ability to sense the future is considered a spiritual gift. Some who have this gift may experience it in their youth and not even know what happened. Some may come to an erroneous conclusion, which is what I did. I believed it to be a sign the religion I was part of at that time was true. It actually had nothing to do with religion what so ever.
The spiritual gift of future (or past sensing) happens because the person is sensitive to that type of spiritual energy. It happens when the person is able and ready to receive that spiritual energy frequency along with the information contained in that energy frequency. The information may be from the future or from the past. It can come in an unexpected moment when it is least expected. It may also happen in a dream, a meditation, times of pondering, or even with a touch.
Future and past sensing is a spiritual gift and because it is a spiritual gift, it is something that you can develop and improve. You can become better at sensing different moments along a timeline.
