Most of us probably would love to connect with our spiritual resources (our Spiritual Guide, our Higher Self, the Tao, God, Goddess, All that Is) and have instant two-way communication. If we can’t have the face-to-face instant communication, then perhaps we would settle for something like a telephone system or an on-line chat system, or even text messages. The idea of being able to communicate instantly, freely, and whenever we want has a lot of appeal.
There was a period of time when I did have that face-to-face communication with my Spiritual Guide and Teacher; John UK. This communication was made available to me for the time John UK needed to share the lessons, which are now in the book, “Lessons from a Mid-causal Teacher.” When that purpose was fulfilled, those face-to-face discussions pretty much ended.
One of the final messages John UK provided was,
- "Learn to trust your feelings because they will become your instant guide. Also, develop your ability to travel to the astral plane (and other planes) because communication there is much more rich and full. Communication won't be misinterpreted. On the other planes, you can "talk" directly to many other souls, rather than just me.
- Also, train your mind to remember the visits on the astral plane, along with the messages you receive. This is how you can gain knowledge and insight.
- And finally, develop the spiritual gift of telepathy and you will once again have the ability to have instant communication."
I must say, it was difficult to no longer have those face-to-face meetings and that direct communication. I had come to depend on having a spiritual resource, my Spiritual Guide and Teacher, be right in front of me and able to answer questions after these lessons. But John UK knew this process was limiting me. It was becoming a crutch. I was not even trying to develop my own spiritual gifts and learn from the lessons he was providing. I was becoming dependent and I hate to say, lazy.
In 1997, John UK returned back to the mid-causal plane. Since his departure, I have struggled to learn and use his lessons, just like everyone else.
Since John UK's departure, I have learned that visiting the astral plane, remembering the travel experience, and learning about telepathy have indeed provided me better opportunities to learn and to communicate with spiritual resources. It is more personal. The travel experience also seems to get imprinted at a cellular level in my body so that I seem to "know" things and feel things much more deeply.
For me, the process has been like climbing a mountain. Rather than be told what the vista looks like, I now know. I have done the work and climbed the mountain. I have seen the view for myself.
Doing the work yourself can make the experience oh, so much more sweet and rich!
